

The Sandlapper
PHC will be holding our annual elections on March 9, 2004 during
our monthly
meeting (details TBA). The following positions are up for election:
President
Oversees the
operation of the Sandlapper PHC and delegates
responsibilities to ensure the
success of the club.
Vice-President
Next in line to succeed as
President should the current President step
down. Also responsible for
scheduling monthly flockings and
organizing fundraisers and parties.
Secretary
Responsible for
taking minutes at BOD meetings, e-mailing the minutes
to the BOD in a timely
fashion, and archiving the minutes.
Treasurer
Responsible for the
financial business of the club including accepting
annual dues and membership
fees, and providing a monthly ledger of
club activity during BOD meetings. Also
responsible for the club Post
Office Box located at the Fort Mill, SC Post
Office.
Here are a few notes from our by-laws regarding our election protocol:
* Only members in
good standing who have been a
member for at least 6 months may run for office.
* Members
interested in running for office must announce
their candidacy to the Election
Chairman on or
before
the February monthly meeting
(Tuesday, February 10, 2004, details TBA)
* The Election
Chairman appointed for the 2004 club elections
is Ron
Wike. As Election Chairman, Ron will oversee the
election
process including accepting nominations,
collecting ballots and tabulating
votes.
* In order to
vote in the Sandlapper PHC elections, members
must be in good standing and have
been a member
for at least 3 months.
* For the first
time in our club's history, we will accept votes
via e-mail. Once the candidates
have been announced,
Ron
will accept votes via e-mail.
* Lastly, if it
turns out that all candidates are running unopposed,
there is no need for an
election and these candidates will
be declared the winners of their perspective
offices.
