         January 2000: Margaritaville Tequila is released in
California

         April 13, 2000 : Jimmy buys another plane, a 1982 Dassault-Breguet Falcon 50 N502JB

         May 1, 2000 : Jimmy signs an agreement to purchase two Krispy-Kreme doughnut shops that will be built in Palm Beach County Florida

         May 5, 2000 : Jimmy sings a duet with Lyle Lovett on the song "If I Had a Boat" at the New Orleans Jazz Fest.


         May 5, 2000
: Club Trini Late Night CD release party at the Margaritaville New Orleans including JB on a few songs.

         May 13, 2000 : One of the original Coral Reefers Greg "Fingers" Taylor announces he quits the band.

         June 8, 2000 : Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays Tour kicks off with a show in Camden NJ.

         June / July 2000: Clint Black performs at several shows

: "Tales from Margaritavision" Video collection is released

         July 4, 2000 : Jimmy spends the Fourth onboard the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy (along with Bill Clinton and others) at the OpSail 2000 festivities in New York Harbor

         July 31, 2000 : Southampton College "All for the Sea" benefit concert.

         August 25, 2000 : Jimmy performs at Clinton's 54th Birthday party.

         Sept 14, 2000 : Jimmy performs at Democratic Fundraiser for Presidential candidate Al Gore

         Sept 25, 2000 : Jimmy performs at a Fundraiser for Presidential candidate Al Gore in Coral Gables, FL.

         October 6, 2000 : Jimmy announces his plans not to tour during the Summer of 2001.


        
October 2000: Outback Steakhouse purchases the naming rights to develop a chain of
Cheeseburger in Paradise Restaurants from Jimmy for $1,000,000.

         Nov 1-2, 2000 : Jimmy campaigns and performs at various rallies for Senate candidate Bill Nelson and Presidential Candidate Al Gore in Florida .

         Nov 4, 2000 : East Hampton Benefit show for the Montessori School.

         Nov 15, 2000 : Jimmy was a guest lecturer at Livingston Taylor's class at Berkley College of Music in Boston.

         Nov 18, 2000 : Jimmy attends the wedding of Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones

         Feb 4, 2001 : Jimmy was asked by a referee to move from his seat during a game between the Miami Heat and the NY Nicks because of shouting profanity

         Feb 20, 2001 : Jimmy pays tribute to Dale Earnhardt during a show in Charlotte NC. He dedicates the song "Take Another Road" to #3.

         April 2001 to August 2001: Jimmy's musical "Don't Stop the Carnival" has a run at the Atlantis Hotel in the Bahamas (Paradise Island).

         May 22nd to June 6th 2001 : First leg of the "2001: A Beach Odyssey" tour. Jimmy takes the summer off and continues the second leg of the tour on August 27th.

         July 20, 2001 : Jimmy performs on The Today Show

         Oct 13, 2001 : East Hampton Benefit show for the Montessori School (3rd Annual Harvest Moon benefit show)

         Nov 16, 2001 : Benefit show at Madison Square Garden for the victims of Sept 11th

         February 2002: Ocho Rios Margaritaville opens in Jamaica

 
         March 19, 2002
: Jimmy's new studio album "Far Side of the World" is released. It was originally scheduled to come out on Oct 23, 2001 , but was delayed because the art work selected for the cover depicted JB in Arab clothing on the back of a camel. The premise for the change was not to offend anyone because of 9/11.

         May 23, 2002 : Jimmy Buffett appears on the Tonight Show and sings "Far Side of the World"

         August 7, 2002 : Jimmy performs with Jerry Jeff Walker at at the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett , NY

         August 9, 2002 : Cancun Margaritaville opens in Mexico

         August 12, 2002 : Jimmy and his son Cameron sail aboard the Coast Guard schooner Barque Eagle

         August 22, 2002 : The first Cheeseburger in Paradise restaurant opens in Indianapolis. Jimmy performed a private show at the restaurant on August 19th.

         October 8, 2002 : Jimmy performs at the "Music to My Ears" benefit show for Timothy White at Madison Square Garden NYC. Other artists who played at the benefit include James Taylor, John Mellencamp, Don Henley, Sheryl Crow, and Sting.

         October 31, 2002 : Jimmy makes a surprise appearance on Halloween night at Margaritaville in Key West during MOTM. He performs with the band St. Somewhere.

         November 1, 2002 : Jimmy makes a surprise appearance at the Margaritaville Street Festival & Block Party during Meetings of the Minds. Members of the Jonathan Birchfield Band perform with him.

         November 2, 2002 : Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band performed at a benefit show for Miami Heat star Alonzo Mourning's underprivileged Children's program at Nikki's Beach Club in Miami .

         November 4, 2002 : Jimmy performs at several campaign rallies for democrat Senator nominee Bill McBride in Florida.

         December 6, 2002 : Jimmy Buffett entertains the troops at Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba

         January 16, 2003 : Martin Guitar announces the release of two new Jimmy Buffett signature guitars

         January 8-10, 2003 : Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band record some tracks for a new album at Shrimpboat Sound in Key West. The 2 CD collection called "Meet Me in Margaritaville" will feature previously released material, new recordings of old favorites, and two cover songs.

         March 2, 2003 : Margaritaville Shrimp is now available at participating retailers.


         April 15, 2003
: A new 2 CD greatest hits collection, "Meet Me in Margaritaville: the Ultimate Collection", is released. It reaches number 9 on the Billboard's Album chart in its first week.

         April 15, 2003 : The Tiki Time Tour kicks off in Houston Texas .

         April 28, 2003 : Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band performed "Knees of My Heart" on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.


         May 1, 2003
: Jimmy's father James Delaney Buffett Jr. passed away at age 83, several years after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.

         May 20, 2003 : "Meet Me in Margaritaville" was certified Platinum by the RIAA (sales exceeding 1,000,000 units).

         June 3, 2003 : Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett's duet "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" gets its first airplay on country radio stations. It was recorded at Shrimpboat Sound Studios in Key West in May 2003.

         July 11, 2003 : Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band perform on the Today Show's Summer Concert Series.

         July 13, 2003 : Jimmy Buffett performs at the All for the Sea Benefit Show in Southampton NY .

         August 1, 2003: Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett's duet "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" reaches number 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles Chart (week ending 8/9/03) and number 1 on Radio and Records Country Chart (week ending 8/1/03). This marks Jimmy's first number one song that he appears on.

         September 25, 2003 : Jimmy Buffett's mother Mary Loraine (Peets) Buffett passed away.

         September 30, 2003 : Two live concert downloads , "Live in Seattle" and "Live in Las Vegas", are released on Itunes.com.

         October 7, 2003 : Jimmy sings "Take me out to the Ballgame" during the 7th inning stretch of the Cubs/Marlins National League Championship Series game.

         October 28, 2003 : Two live concert CDs, , "Live in Seattle" and "Live in Las Vegas", are released to retail outlets.

         November 11, 2003 : Jimmy performs at the opening of the new Cheeseburger in Paradise Restaurant in Downers Grove, IL.


         November 5, 2003
: Jimmy Buffett and Alan Jackson win the CMA Award for Vocal Event of the Year. The two perform their duet "It's Five O'clock Somewhere" to open the CMA Awards show.


         November 11, 2003
: Jimmy Buffett's MiniMatinee DVD is released.

         December 4, 2003 : Jimmy Buffett and Alan Jackson receive a Grammy nomination for Best Country song for "It's Five O'clock Somewhere". This is Buffett's first Grammy nomination.

         December 2003: Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer band record some tracks for the new album "Conchy Tonk" at the Shrimpboat Sounds studio in Key West. The album's title was later changed to "License to Chill."

         July 13, 2004: JB releases "License to Chill."
