Our date with Lowe's Motor Speedway is fast approaching (Oct. 7th). We have 2 open dates for alcohol sales training and need several members to volunteer to go through the training to help give us a balanced window during the race. Wednesday, September 26th at 6PM and Saturday, September 29th at 10AM. Cheryl Howell has offered to drive anyone to the training facilities and has asked me to give out her pertinent info in case you can volunteer for alcohol sales. Our yard sale is scheduled for Saturday, November 17. A location has not yet been secured but will be announced as soon as we find it. It would be a good time to start collecting all those wonderful treasures that don't fit your decor anymore and donate them to this cause. We will also lease storage space to put everything in before the sale, and I will forward that info, with combinations and codes, as soon as we get it.

Calling All Graphic Designers!!!! The Sandlapper PHC has not had a fresh tee shirt design in a couple of years and we'd like to offer a little contest, Meeting of the Minds style. Have your design drawn up and submitted to us by November 30, and if your design is chosen for our new shirt, we'll present you with a 2 year membership to our club and 2 of the new tee shirts when they're screened. We raised over $235.00 for Paramedics for Children (www.ParamedicsForChildren.com) at our meeting. Thanks to everyone who opened up their wallets. And if you're heading out to buy lottery tickets anytime soon, you may want to rub your money on Laurie Schmehl's head before you go. She walked away with 80% of our giveaways Wednesday night. Congrats Laurie!

And lastly, we are bringing back the Sandlapper PHC Halloween Party after a brief, one year hiatus. The date is October 27 and will (hopefully) be held at the Field House of the Anne Springs Close Greenway. The costume party will offer some great prizes and you must come dressed as a Buffett character to be considered for prizes. Members, dressed in costume, will get in free. Non-members, and those members who don't come dressed in costume will be charged $5.00 to help cover the cost of the band (which is yet to be determined).
