Charleston Rehearsal Concert
by BobRob

Last Saturday was a potentially hazardous day for yours truly. My daughter had a baseball game at 11:00 AM and being an assistant coach for her team left me no other recourse but to show up and perform my fatherly duties. My dilemma? Jimmy and the Coral Reefers were finish-ing up two weeks of rehearsals with a concert for a few lucky people. Our club never received a "blanket invitation" as I'd hoped we would, but I received one from Gina Knight, the manager of the Margaritaville Store in Charleston. With Courtney's baseball game finishing up at high noon, I was on 1-77 by quarter after and rolled into the North Charleston Coliseum parking lot at 2:45. Now comes my next hurdle, or so I thought. To get in, I was told I had to be there by 1:00 at the latest. There was no one at the door checking names. I was shut out of an opportunity I've been looking forward to for 2 years. That's about the time the Parrot Head gods smiled down and sent one of their angels out for a smoke. And let me tell you, that open door was closing so slow I even had time to consider the consequences of crashing the party. Fortunately that thought process quickly faded and I dashed in and never looked back. Jimmy was dishin' up the Gumbo and everyone was indeed in a Parrot state of mind. Thanks for a great show Jimmy!
